Anime Conji 2013

Me as Orihime from Bleach (Maid Version)

Hello everyone! Well once again it has been too long since my last post. I do have a good excuse this time I was really busy sewing my heart out for Anime Conji 2013!

I really had a blast at this convention. It was my first with an exhibitor booth and doing panels! I was also featured in the Fashion Show as a designer.
Nick and Major got to join me for the whirlwind weekend at the lovely Town and Country Resort and Convention Center in San Diego. The hotel was great the only issue was the elevators kept breaking down and we were on the 6th floor O.o

I really wish I had gotten better photos of me in my cosplay and outfits- especially since it was my first time wearing contacts and all. I hope to remedy that soon by shooting with a professional photographer ^.^

Here I am with Vampy and 2 beautiful members of Chocolate Covered Cosplay at the Cosplay Industries round table. I was here representing myself (Chibi Bubble Ninja) and Kosplay Underground. It was such an honor to be part of this panel as all of these great women have way more experience then me in the Cosplay community. Especially when Asako Yamamoto (Chief Editor of COSMODE magazine in Japan) joined the panel.  The best part was that everyone was so inviting and down to earth. Vampy said something along the lines of we are all just a bunch of nerds out to have fun and dress up- and I have to agree.

I did another panel "Kosplay Underground Tells All" (on behalf of Kosplay Underground). I have to thank the entire audience that was at this panel. I had technical difficulties for about 20 minutes into my panel but you were all so wonderful in sticking around and letting me entertain you while we waited.

Here are some great shots from the Fashion Show and a Video (below)! Some of the outfits are still available on my website (and all available for custom order)!
Also I have to give a thank all my wonderful models for showing up and doing such a great job!

My part of the show starts 11:20 into the video- if you don't want to watch all of it.

So in short I had a blast and met a lot of great people. Now to plan for Anime Expo!

My New Anime Obsession

AMNESIA
Ok, so I wanted to post more about anime and my cosplay so since this is my new favorite anime I had to post it! I will admit that I now have a fan girl crush O.O (As a result I think I must cosplay them all >.<)
I am a little bummed because I discovered that this is an anime based on a game- which I immediately wanted- but is only available in Japanese...which I can't read or speak.

Side note- I contacted 9mm SFX to see what it would run me to get Ikki eyes- so for those interested you can get a pair for the price of $350....Almost totally worth it right *swoon*

Anyways I would recommend this anime to any one interested in a romance based show. I am really excited for the next episode to see what happens next.

Busy Busy life.......

So it has been AGES since I posted again. But I have good reason- life has been so busy!

In the acting and modeling front- I just  finished filming "Vampire Treat" with the Casting Director. Which if you are an actor in Los Angeles I fully endorse this place. Amazing service and people!

In fact that is where I got these great new Headshots:

I have more on the way they are with the editor right now. I should also have a post with the release of "Vampire Treat" in about a month- so stay tuned for that!
I also launched my Official Acting/Modeling site.

Besides that I also launched my home sewing services: Chibi Bubble Ninja's Sewing Cafe

I did a video interview with Kosplay Underground:

This month I also started working as an assistant to another seamstress that takes cosplay commissions. So my day is spent at the law firm on the phone and filing paperwork and my nights are full of sewing. >.< But I am very greatful because I am learning a lot and it motivates me to work on my own projects.

I am committed to keeping this blog more up to date from now on. I have many book reviews to post along with progress updates on personal sewing projects I am working on. So if you are interested stay tunes for that as well :)

In the mean time you can also like my new pages on facebook! Links posted on your right :)

Vacation in Yosemite

Well I had a FANTASTIC time in Yosemite. Nick, Major, and I all stayed at the Yosemite View Lodge. We got this fantastic two night deal through Living Social. The hotel was great! It was right on the river, had a fireplace, and a hot tub in the room! Overall it was about the size of our apartment so it was just enough space for us. The lodge was about 2 minutes from the park entrance. We did not go into the park because we are going to be camping there in about a month, so we just enjoyed a relaxing time at the lodge instead.

This is a photo when the sun has not completely gone down but the moon was already out. It was really nice to be able to see some stars- it is really hard to see them in downtown.

I think Nick took this one. It was when the sun was just coming over the mountain the first day there.

Close up of the river- the water was beautiful- but FREEZING!

Nick, Major, and me when we walked down to "test the water". Even Major put his little paw in.

This is a little farther up river. The stones here were more like boulders.

This curious little guy came to visit out balcony on our last night there. He was not afraid of us or Major. The photo is really fuzzy but he sat there cleaning himself, yawning and stretching for about 10 minutes. That was our only wildlife encounter on this trip. ^.^

This was the morning of our last day there. I took some photos between the rain. We made sure to take off before the cold rain and wind turned into snow.

Here is a video off our balcony at the hotel. The river sound was so soothing. I wish we could have kept it open at night...but raccoons were around.

On the way back to LALA land the wind was so strong Nick was playing "frogger" with the tumbleweeds and the car. I wish I could have snapped some photos- but everything was going to fast with the high winds.

I also snapped some photos so that I could use my photo panoramic program. This is the river outside the hotel- you can see it from the balcony.

So we had a beautiful time and I cannot wait to go back next month to go camping!
