Book Review: Down-to-Earth Natural Horse Care

Down-to-Earth Natural Horse Care
By: Lisa Ross-Williams

So this is one of the new books I just got and posted about recently. I have to say if you are interested in getting horses or have horses and want to raise them naturally- this is a must get book!

This book is packed full of great information to get you started on the right path. There are a few things that she touched on that I really want to study more. Such as Equine iridology and natural barefoot trimming.

One thing I will say though is that I would like to implement or encourage you to look into the Jamie Jackson Paddock Paradise Method for the natural horse living environment and encourage you to get his book to study this more in depth. I feel she does cover some of the important aspects of the horses natural living environment- just JJ's method takes it to a "track" to produce more movement within your herd. As you will read here 24/7 movement is very important for your horses health.

I really love that all natural healing modules where listed in here- as well as some personal stories how it has worked for her herd. One thing that she seems to implement often is essential oils and flower essences that has really encouraged me to study up on them more.

I think she does a really good job on getting you started with creating better nutrition for your horse. I have done a lot of study into this lately so it was mostly stuff I had already gone over but there are somethings I was not familiar with. I would encourage you to read everything she has written carefully and also seek out articles on natural nutrition from Natural Horse Magazine. They really have a lot of great articles on equine nutrition and adding variety in the diet to support the whole horse.

The Author Lisa Ross- Williams also does a Natural horse Webcast (link below). So if you have the time check that out as well. I am a little behind in listening O.o

PS. I had mentioned it on my previous book post, but wanted to note it here as well, that I love the author herself included a little handwritten message in the front of the book thanking me for my purchase. It's the little things :)
