Horse Training

I have been thinking a lot lately about farm/homestead related things. Of course on of the things I plan on having on the homestead is horses. I have been looking at ways to do everything more natural for the animals in my care. One of those things is training or partnership with the animals.
I ran across this documentary on youtube: The Path of the Horse:
I thought it was a beautifully done documentary- I especially liked the Russian trainer Alexander Nevzorov.
If you have a moment it is a really beautiful film.

Another trainer I really enjoy watching is Cynthia Royal- trainer of the horse Shadowfax in Lord of the Rings. http://www.gobeyondhorsemanship.com/

Also here is a video just for fun :P

This is how I intend to connect and work with my horses in the future and I just wanted to share ^.^

Chibi Bubble Ninja's Sewing Cafe- Yuel

New Project completion Yeul from Final Fantasy XIII-2!
I was super excited to do this project becasue it is soooooo pretty!
Here is an original character photo:

Above Photo are of the Crown pieces molded with Worbla. Some where molded over craft foam to give them a little more thickness. All pieces where free hand patterned and modeled by me.

Above are the crown pieces before attaching together. All pieces where based with a primmer/filler and sprayed a base gold. Silver and additional gold where hand painted.

The boots base was store bought. (Above photo with flash- bottom without). The original color of the boots in the base of the boot. The rest of the boot was hand dyed. I also cut and attached the lighter colored fringe and replaced the laces. All leather materials.
These are the bracelets and necklace. Braided hemp rope -hand braided by me- also hand beaded by me. Necklace is secured between beads with a clear thread to keep the interlocking beaded look.

Upper arm bands- Once again hemp rope hand braided and threaded by me in this design. Upper photo if the outside of the arm- bottom is the inside of the arm.

Completed crown/head piece. Not sure if you can see but it is secured on the wig/headpiece by the inner combs.

Completed skirt photos- skirt is made from a wight light weight poly cotton. Original color is white- Fabric was dip dyed by me before sewing.
Top photo is a cross section with hem (clear thread used to avoid breaking up the color of the dye). Middle photo is a close up of the slit to allow the skirt to wrap around- As displayed on the third photo. Last photo is how the skirt will look on the body with the top band folded under.
Faux fur "pelt" This hangs off the back of the skirt- I think it looks like a Beaver pelt :P

Photos of the completed top- this was the most challenging part of the process. Top photo is complete top from the front. The white material is the same as in the skirt. The straps where once again dip dyed by me. Center hoop was also hand wrapped with the hemp rope. Center crystal is suspended with clear thread to create that "floating" look. All neckline crystals are sewn on. All beads at the base are hand beaded by me. Last two photos are the back of the top- zipper completely separates for ease of taking top on and off.
Last piece is the forearm cuff. As before rope is hand braided by me and hand beaded. Cuff is Bias tape sew and stuffed with batting and a wire to mold to the arm as needed.

Chibi Bubble Ninja's Sewing Cafe- Mordercai Hoody

Hello everyone! Well I feel off the wagon already for posting 7 days in a row. To make up for it I have posted to go up today and over the weekend!
This post is for my latest Sewing project Mordercai Hoody.
Here is an original character photo:

This is the Hoody with the arms and hood still detached.
The hoody was made from a non-pill polar fleece for the blue and sweatshirt knit for both the black and white pieces. The entire hoody was patterned and sewn together by me. The design for the tail and the extended sleeves/wings were a special request by the client.

Hoody front- completed

Hoody Back completed

Sleeve detail- This is the inner part of the sleeve. The elastic strap goes across the palm of the hand.
Sleeve detail- Back of the hand/Wings.
Tail detail- I was going to make these stiff so they stick out like the character. But that would interfere with sitting in chairs so it was decided to just make a hanging tail feather.
Lastly there is the hood that needs to have these great top points. Fosshape was used to create a flexible but sturdy look for the hood.

I am looking to do this detailed breakdown of the new pieces. So stay tuned!
